Abstract
The research project is oriented in:
- research of phase equilibria in binary and ternary systems what includes experimental determining of equilibrium solubilities of substances ( pesticides, vitamins and other active natural components) and solid-liquid phase transitions in sub- and supercritical fluids, as well as modeling with cubic equation of states.
- extraction of plant materials (green tea, camomile, Chilly Pepper, Melisa Officinalis, L., Lavandula, Thymus vulgaris L., Origanum majorana L., Milk thistle..)
- mass transfer studies in systems with supercritical fluids, which includes effects of particle size, solvent flow rate, pressure and temperature and effect of water content on extraction rate, modelling of extraction curves and determining of transport coefficients.
Aim is determine the parameters needed in dimensioning high pressure separation process of plant materials which are missing in the literature and further to analyse and explain the behaviour of named highly nonideal systems from the thermodynamical point of view.
