Abstract
A permanent development of construction solutions, implementation of new materials and modern concepts is characteristic for crane devices, and is conditioned with permanent research. The object of the proposed research work is crawler crane with high load capacity (up to 6000 kN). The most highly loaded component of the crane (counterweight cantilever) is made of new material (S1100QL) in order to reduce the total weight of whole construction. Introduction of the new material requires correct determination of its fatigue service life, where the influence of material, technological, geometrical and loading features must be considered. The proposed research is based on logical combination of experimental and theoretical-computational approaches for determination of the fatigue service life, where development of new procedures is envisaged.
