Abstract
The research and the implementation of the shape optimal design of space frames will be done. Kinematic nonlinearity analysis will be made and the shape optimum design of crane structures will be done considering the frequency constraints. Only the first few (the lowest) frequencies will be taken into account, because these are the most important ones. The calculated natural frequencies will be compared to the experiment results. The experiment was done in the container crane structure in Koper port. The optimization of the crane structure itself is important for the crane manufacturer (Metalna ECCE Maribor), because the natural frequencies are prescribed in the standards. It is very difficult to satisfy the standard and design the cost – effective structure.
