Abstract
The SCIBee project aims to improve the health and sustainability of beehives through the development of a smart, community-integrated beehive. The project uses precision beekeeping to address key challenges in apiculture: (1) automating varroosis treatment, (2) minimizing bee exposure to pesticides, and (3) optimizing forage availability for bee colonies. By combining edge and cloud computing, the SCIBee project will offer a cost-effective, repairable, and open-source mechatronic system that enhances beekeeper control and collaboration in agriculture.
