Abstract
AI-THOS aims to train, support and empower educators and trainers of tertiary education to develop knowledge and competences to deliver ERI training with focus on AI technologies. This is done through art- and inquiry-based tools in their settings. Furthermore the project aims to nurture a generation of trainers and researchers capable of recognizing and confronting AI ethical implications, so as in the long-term to enhance research transparency, eliminate AI biased content, and improve public confidence in science and technology. The main priority of the project is addressing digital transformation through development of digital readiness, resilience and capacity in ethical way for the sake of improving educational process. Significance for science
AI-THOS works at developing a comprehensive Train-the-Trainer programme for equipping HEIs educators, trainers and teaching staff with knowledge and skills on ERI training. AI-THOS aims to co-design and develop an action-oriented and experiential curriculum implemented in tertiary education settings, focusing on educating under/post graduate students, trainees, PhD candidates on the depths of ERI principles and grey zones, especially on AI technologies, by integrating its core innovative methodologies, such as art- and inquiry-based learning. AI-THOS is designing an Open Accessible Online Course consisting of the AI-THOS training programme, the Curriculum and the monitoring-assessment methodology in order to support the future use and ease the integration of AI-THOS resources in existing study programmes and interested stakeholders across different disciplines. AI-THOS will thus empower professors, researchers, workers in educational institutions so as students and to enhance research transparency, eliminate AI biased content, and improve public confidence in science and technology.
Significance for the country
Slovenian professors, teachers, students, and researchers will be equipped with tools and curricula, which will improve the quality of teaching, learning, and research with the proper methodology for using artificial intelligence. The Slovenian scientific field will thus further develop, become more ethical, and gain credibility and trust in the eyes of the public.
