Abstract
Urban, suburban, and transnational mobility in the Alpine region too often relies on means of transport that produce significant amounts of emissions. At the same time, there is insufficient understanding of the demand from mobility service users and their involvement in shaping measures to promote sustainable mobility. The Alpine region is particularly sensitive and, as such, requires the introduction of alternative, innovative, and above all, environmentally friendly modes of mobility, while simultaneously involving users in the development of solutions. The MELINDA project works towards involving non-institutionally organized public transport users in co-decision-making processes and opening up the inclusion of users in the design of mobility solutions in municipalities. A multidisciplinary participatory decision-making system will be developed to support the understanding and design of sustainable mobility services. Taking into account the changing behavioral patterns and needs of modern citizens, the project will introduce real-time monitoring, develop modern transport services, and involve the end-user in co-decision-making based on the principles of sustainable development.
