Abstract
TACEESM project application is addressing the future BSc and MSc students, unemployed professionals willing to acquire new skills, employees from Small and Medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), industry, government institutions (Ministry of Spatial Planning, Construction and Environmental Protection, Development Planning Institutes, Institutes for Construction etc.), which need to keep up with changing technologies and Non-government organizations (professional associations of architect etc.). In general, target groups in all partner HEIs can be grouped around prospects students, HEIs employees in particular academic staff and industry. The effectiveness of education in architecture and civil engineering is a contentious issue that plays a key role in EU growth and development strategies, such as the Modernisation Agenda for Higher Education in the EU. Understanding the changing paradigms described in these strategies is essential to adapt education to these changes. The current educational system is too rigid to keep pace with increasing and diverse demands, and thus cannot prepare a valuable workforce for the 21st century. As architecture and civil engineering are practiced internationally and are crucial for sustainable development, it is important for students to have access to appropriate educational resources and technologies. The TACEESM project includes: - Modernizing existing undergraduate and postgraduate courses at partner higher education institutions. - Creating new undergraduate and postgraduate courses at partner higher education institutions. - Establishing an online platform for teaching and introducing ICT teaching methods. - Training partner staff on current relevant topics and innovative teaching methods in architecture and civil engineering.
