Abstract
The aim of investigation is to inventory the biodiversity patterns of wetland algal, plant, and animal taxa in the surroundings of Ljubljana, to determine some population characteristics (seasonal dynamics, cytogenetic variability), as well as to evaluate the abundance and vulnerability of endangered or rare species. The results will be the basis for the implementation of adequate environmental measures and will enable subsequent experiments on the repopulation of endangered species.
