Abstract
The aim of the proposed investigation is to acquire, understand and connect information from the fields of sensors and thick film technology. Notwithstanding the new MEMS technologies, this is a convenient way of realising different sensor structures. A variety of sensing principles will be studied and suitable mechanical constructions, which depend on materials selected and the method of realisation, will be evaluated. Particular emphasis will be placed on modelling and analysis of the electromechanical and thermal characteristics of the chosen sensor structures.
