Abstract
An animal model for cocaine addiction will be used to study pharmacological modulation of cocaine- induced craving. Drug-craving is one of the least managable psychological symptoms of drug-addiction. The effects ibogaine will be studied, and the effects of ibogaine on brain receptors. Our study will contribute to a better understanding of neurobiological substrate of drug-addiction. The results could be used to design a rational pharmacological approach to combat the problem of drug-addiction.
