Abstract
The research aims at understanding of smooth muscle activity in human uterine corpus and the cervix during pregnancy, at term and during labour by implementing objective EMG recording techniques. EMG activity is recorded and analised in humans and sheep. EMG signals are analysed so that correlation with a threatening preterm labour would be noticed, and similarities between human and animal EMG established. Additionally, we want to assess, by using objective tools, impacts that medicaments prescribed in clinical practice have on pregnancy and course of labour.
