Abstract
Legal and economic changes in 90s changed Slovene companies and defined new relations between owners, managers and employees. We will pay a special attention to employee shareholding as a form of ownership which is present in the majority of Slovene companies. We will analyze scope and quality of employee shareholding, place this analysis in the framework of current organizational theory which redefines (postmodern) organization and test whether employee shareholding presents a potential positive factor of organizational success and thus should be supported or it is an inappropriate form of ownership for Slovene companies and it should be abolished.
