Abstract
The subject of the project is a computer monitoring of high-grade steel billet reheating so as to fulfill the reheating requirements and to achieve rational use of energy as well as to optimize the furnace atmosphere and consequently lower the skin decarburization of the charge. For establishing the boundary conditions the measurements of performance parameters will be carried out which are not performed in present practice of reheating. The research comprises the acquisition of performance parameters by use of a system for automatic data acquisition, conversion of signals for computer acquistion of process data, building and validation of the simulation model, and visualisation of measured and calculated quantities.
