Abstract
The reduction of water consuption in pulp and paper industry in accordance with international standards will be attained by introduction and development of new technologies for process water treatment on paper quality. Microbiology of proces waters and methods of converting solid waste from effluent treatmnent plants will be studied. Models for water and paperstock circuits will be set up. The influence of lower water consumption on the printability of paper for digital printing will be investigated.
