Abstract
The project work will focuss on the development of environmentally safer agricultural products, and will consist of the following steps: (1) identification of essential oils with fungicidal, insecticidal or repellent activity, (2) microencapsulation of volatile compounds by coacervation and polymerization methods to prolong their activity, (3) study of the release mechanisms of active ingredients from microcapsules, (4) modifications of microencapsulation procedures to achieve controlled release, (5) testing of pesticidal and repellent effects of selected microencapsulated active compounds.
