Abstract
Three important concrete deterioration processes will be investigated in the proposed project: freezing/thawing, where a new testing method for the determination of freeze/thaw resistance will be developed and verified, shrinkage and creep strain time development, whose knowledge is indispensable in reinforced concrete structures design, and the influence of inhibitors used for corrosion protection upon the durability of concrete. Special attention will be devoted to the high-strength concrete, i.e. to the determination of its durability properties, and optimal composition that ensures material''s durability.
