Abstract
From year to year the number of patients with terminal kidney failure treated by hemodialysis is constantly growing. Their average age and their survival time is increasing. Consequently the number of complications (accelerated atherosclerosis, osseous changes etc.) is increasing also. The project is directed towards detecting the intial, perhaps still reversible changes which precede the development of the clinical picture and increase morbidity and/or mortality as well as towards improving the management of dialysis patients.
