Abstract
The research goal is to assess the role of calcium-dependent metabolism enhancement during illumination in insect photoreceptors. We want to evaluate the role of metabolism in adaptation processes and the relationship between increase in intracellular calcium activity, which is a result of transduction processes, and increased metabolism. The research will be conducted on intact animals, isolated eyes and single cell level.
