Innovative utilisation and products of large dimensioned timber including the whole forest-wood-chain

The main objective of the Action is to provide the scientific basis for European wide and international competitiveness for large dimensioned timber products. Scientific targets aim to increase and expand the knowledge of properties and material characters (e.g. strength, grain, fibre length) of large dimensioned wood, to broaden methods for standardised data acquisition for wood resources and their availability; for silvicultural practices, guidelines and measures; and for forest infrastructure and harvesting systems and to develop future strategies for forest management which will be able to handle and solve profitably the large dimensioned wood problem within a European context.
